I read this little bit in the Atlantic... the guy makes out like we - here in the United States - don't do the exact same thing. Those of you who have not been to the border in the past few years might not be aware of the fact the Border Patrol conducts unabashed screening of all things coming and going headed north form the border.
Back a few months ago, there was much talk about screening for guns going south into Mexico... well... we paid lip service to that by placing two agents on the south bound lanes headed across the border... I never saw them stop a single car...
I am going to follow this guy's posts... perhaps he was looking for the Cancun version of Mexico... He may have been better served by doing what I suggest people do here in the United States... get off of the interstates and meet the real people....something we have done with excellent results in the US, as well as Mexico...
